Created during a month-long residence in 2015 at the Scuola Grafica Internazionale di Venezia, this scroll-book synthesizes color information drawn from Venetian architecture with reimagined figurative imagery drawn from the rich culture of art history in Venice. Part One of the scroll responds to the at once inspiring and claustrophobic feeling of being in Venice, comparing it to my memory of the expansive, dwarfing landscape of “home" in part two. The scroll is 122x32 cm, monoprint, acrylic paint, and chine-collé.
